Washington Town Hall, Washington, MA

There is not a lot to the town of Washington, MA, a rural area near Pittsfield with a population of around 500. However, the town does count folk legend Arlo Guthrie among its prominent citizens. This town hall features many characteristics of a 1950s era structure, seeming more like a school with its large banks of windows. The most distinctive feature however is under the windows on the left side of the facade (also present on other parts of the building not visible). The red panels underneath the windows are not the standard red enamel panels found on most buildings of this type but instead consist of wooden planks, possibly speaking to the rural location of this town hall.
