Temple Beth Israel, Winsted, CT

This synagogue sits among Victorian structures at the edge of the Winsted Green on Park Place. The congregation has existed in Winsted since 1912 and has held services at this location since 1925. Their previous building, originally the St. James Episcopal Church, was destroyed by the famous Flood of 1955. The congregation then built this new brick structure which was dedicated in 1957.

  1. Excellent example of mid-range Mid Century Modern. Hey not everyone can afford high style MCM and these ordinary examples are wonderful.
