Mackenzie Hall, University of Washington, Seattle, WA

Of all the buildings on the University of Washington campus this is probably the most Miesian. That honor may have gone to the neighboring Balmer Hall, but it was demolished in 2010.

Both buildings were designed by Decker & Christenson and Paul Hayden Kirk, Mackenzie in 1960 and Balmer in 1962.  While it feels somewhat dropped into place on campus, Mackenzie is not without some nice features. The inner courtyard features a fountain from the Seattle Worlds Fair of 1962 by George Tsutakawa, a noted sculptor and faculty member.
