Grand Concourse Executive Towers, Bronx, NYC

This wavy white brick apartment complex looks like it should be in Miami but instead is at 1020 Grand Concourse in The Bronx, found among the plentiful Art Deco buildings. It opened in 1963 and was designed by prolific, but largely unheralded, New York City apartment building architect Philip Birnbaum. The detailing is pretty fantastic with gold statuary, fleur-de-lys, marble and an impressive entrance canopy. It is being considered for landmark designation as part of a Grand Concourse Historic District.
