111 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY

Albany does not have a prominent place in modern architecture, aside from the well-known, if not beloved, Empire State Plaza designed by Wallace K. Harrison of the renowned firm Harrison and Abramovitz. 111 Washington Avenue is a lesser office building, which was completed in 1962. It houses numerous law firms and companies associated with the state government and is faced in the flat enamel panels and international style windows typical of the period, above a recessed base.
