Bankers Federal Savings and Loan, West Village, NYC

Originally built for Bankers Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1954, this building now houses a Chase Bank branch. It is located on the corner of West 4th Street and Sixth Avenue. Alfred Hopkins and Associates was the architect and the firm designed at least two other banks including this one and a now demolished one higher on Second Avenue. The two extant ones are remarkably similar including a granite base, tan brick facade, and a large bay of metal framed windows. This bank on Sixth Avenue also has a rooftop addition that may have been added later.
