Sabin-Reed and McConnell Halls, Smith College, Northampton, MA

Sabin-Reed and McConnell Halls were both built in 1967 by the firm Shepley, Bulfinch, Richardson and Abbott. The firm designed buildings all across the Northeast and beyond and are most well-known in some circles for being the successor firm to H. H. Richardson, although today they are a diverse and sprawling firm. As seen in the pictures, Sabin-Reed is currently under renovation. Both buildings are simple boxes of glass, brick and concrete and are connected by a suspended glass walkway.
