Former AAA Building, Pittsburgh, PA

This building at 202 Penn Circle West is currently vacant and slated for redevelopment as part of a larger parcel in  the East Liberty neighborhood. It was most recently used by the Police Investigations Unit and before that was the American Automobile Association. The AAA moved in 1988 to the landmark Motor Square Garden building nearby. This building was built in 1972 and must have been a more impressive site than it looks now. The symmetry of the structure and the light-colored cladding (possibly granite but more likely concrete) evoke the qualities of a municipal building and not a commercial one.
