24th Precinct Station House, Upper West Side, NYC

This complex is located at 151 West 100th Street, just south of the Frederick Douglass Houses, a public housing project. It was constructed in 1957 and designed by Knappe and Johnson. The firm was based in Scarsdale and Garden City and were prolific school architects around the region. This site also includes a fire station on the east side of the complex seen below.

Across the street is a good mid-century public library and health center complex but it is currently under large scale renovation and not able to be photographed.
