McEntegart Hall, St. Joseph’s College, Brooklyn, NYC

Nestled among the mansions and brick high rises of Clinton Hill is this mid-century educational facility on the corner of Clinton and Willoughby Avenues. It houses St. Joseph’s library and was constructed in 1964-65. Here is a picture of when it was completed, which shows that almost nothing has changed except the removal of the high fence. More pictures are available on St. Joseph’s Flickr page which show some construction and the original interior. The building features colorful crests above the entrance area and original metal lettering. The rest of the building is somewhat standard although there does seem to be a chapel on the fourth floor above the entrance.  Stickle & Associates, architects with a focus on Catholic projects, designed the building.
