Across from the United Nations at 777 First Avenue is the Church Center, originally called the Church Peace Center. The most eye-catching part of the building is its unique first floor sculpture design by Benoit Gilsoul, which is actually the facade of Tillman Chapel. The building dates from 1962-63 and was designed by William Lescaze, who has been covered a few times on this blog. It is owned by the United Methodist Church.
