New Graduate Residence Hall, University of Chicago, Chicago, IL

One of Edward Durell Stone’s lesser-known works. This one from 1963. It was originally the Center for Continuing Education and was part of Eero Saarinen’s 1950s master plan for the University of Chicago. Mies van der Rohe and Saarinen himself also designed buildings as part of this master plan for the Midway area. More complete photographs of the residence hall can be seen here.
