Temple Adath Israel, Bala Cynwyd, PA

A wonderful synagogue that not only continues to be actively used but has also been expanded with a sympathetic addition. While the core building dates to 1954, the main, 12-sided sanctuary was designed by designed by Pietro Belluschi and Charles Frederick Wise and built in 1958. Belluschi was a prominent modern architect but does not have a huge presence in New York. Another mundane building he helped design was the Pan Am Building above Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.
