After my trip to Lynchburg, I traveled up to Washington DC and Maryland. Part of my time was spent photographing in downtown Silver Spring, MD, which has a plethora of fast-disappearing mid-century buildings. Special thanks to Jerry McCoy, president of the Silver Spring Historical Society for sending me the information on this building.
8787 Georgia Avenue is the Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission and according to Jerry it was designed in 1957 by Corning & Moore of WDC and “remodeled” in the 1970s. I love the remodeled aspect of it but am also interested in finding an image of it from 1957. Thanks Jerry!
I found a photo of MNCPPC when it opened! How can I get it to you?
