This Salvation Army building is located at 518 S. Glebe Road in Arlington. The orientation of the building is interesting as it is sited on a corner lot which rises away from the street. The side elevation is two stories including an exposed basement, while a stepped plaza at the corner rises to the front entrance. The primary facade is staggered away from the entrance as a series of glass fronted, flat-roofed pavilions and a raised center section features clerestory windows and a decorative overhang, slightly reminiscent of Edward Durell Stone’s work. It was built in 1967.
