The first, Pasadena Presbyterian Church was constructed in 1976 by architect John Andre Gougeon after the previous church on the site was badly damaged in an earthquake and demolished. This brutalist structure is definitely a product of its time and presents many interesting facades on a corner lot.

The second church, Knox United Presbyterian Church, at the corner of South Hill Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard was built in 1961-62, after the church sold its previous site for an office development. While not nearly as dramatic as the later Pasadena Presbyterian, it still combines traditional and modern elements into a pleasing corner site.
